The Professional Insurance Agents of Florida (PIA) is excited to announce the success of its 2014 Agent Expo, held at Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista South in Orlando, Florida on February 27-28, 2014.

Only in its fifth year of existence, Agent Expo 2014 featured hundreds of attendees, as well as nearly 50 sponsors and vendors. Building on its forward-thinking brand, Agent Expo encouraged its members and supporters to be "Agents of Change” in their agencies through a curriculum that was uniquely designed on the principle of adding to the marketing and management of agency principals and senior staff. The result that emerged was a group of agencies who are prepared to innovate, invest, and connect to propel them to victory.

"We are delighted with the turnout, networking, and value that Agent Expo 2014 provided to Florida’s independent insurance agents,” said PIA of Florida CEO Corey G. Mathews, CAE. "Together, with our members and industry partners, we will continue to grow this tremendous event in 2014.”

Agent Expo 2014 also featured the Florida Senate’s Banking and Insurance Chairman, David Simmons who spoke on Citizens and personal injury protection auto insurance coverage, and was awarded the 2014 PIA of Florida Legislative Champion award.

Steve Bitar, Vice President of Consumer and Agent Services for Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, joined by Phil Zelman of the Citizens Market Accountability Advisory Committee, Larry Willis of the Citizens Agent Roundtable, and Clint Strauch of Florida Peninsula Insurance Company discussed the newly opened Citizens Clearinghouse and answered questions for nearly two hours. Agents left the discussion with a firm understanding of the clearinghouse and its implementation.

If you missed Agent Expo this year, rest assured that we will be getting information out to you on Agent Expo 2015 in the next couple of months so you can ensure that it is blocked out on your calendar and you do not miss out on the fastest growing specialty event in the insurance industry next year.
